The Santa Cookie Jar

Karen held both hands over her mouth in anticipation as Kathy carefully unwrapped the two-foot square box. She bounced in place as she watched her sister peel the paper away and reveal the nondescript cardboard box. As Kathy tugged the box flaps open, Karen squealed and giggled.

Kathy noted the eagerness in Karen's demeanor and sighed inwardly. That much emotion had to mean that the gift within was some homemade atrocity that Karen would expect everyone to love, particularly the recipient. Why couldn't Charlie have picked her name instead of Karen?
